Welcome, reading weather!

As part of the Autumn's Harvest Blog Hop, you've got a chance to win a number of great prizes by commenting with your email address to this blog post!

But first I'm thinking about the top 10 reasons I love autumn!

10. Leaves! On the trees, the symphony of color always brings a smile to my face.
9. It's hot cocoa time!
8. And don't forget the marshmallows.
7. More leaves! The wind blows through the trees, and the leaves swirl to the ground in a sudden leaf shower.
6. I can drink more hot cocoa (extra marshmallows, please, and a few cookies, too) and gain a few pounds... but then I can claim I need the padding to deal with the chilly weather.
5. My mother's cheesy green bean casserole she only makes on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but for some reason never on Easter. What gives?
4. Crunch! The sound dried leaves make when I step on them. Crunch! Crunch!
3. Daylight saving time ends and we all gain an extra hour of sleep!
2. Even more leaves! My husband and sons corral the fallen leaves into one pile and then throw them over the back fence, allowing me hours of quiet time to do the number one top reason I love the season, which is...
1. Something about the cold snap in the weather has me curling up under a warm, fuzzy blanket with a good book!

And speaking about good books...

Private Deception
by Tamara Ward

Sassy private investigator Jade O’Reilly thinks she’s hit rock bottom when, in the midst of obtaining photos of a cheating spouse in a second-story apartment, she falls off a swing set to the feet of an attractive mystery man. But the next day, when Jade discovers the man’s identity—he’s a detective with the local Sweetwater, NC, police—she learns that the cheating spouse was murdered and Jade herself is a suspect. Rock bottom just got a new definition.

Private Deception is the first novel in the Jade O’Reilly Mystery series by Amazon Bestselling mystery author Tamara Ward. The novel’s prequel, the short story Jade O’Reilly and the Ice Queen, joins Jade O’Reilly and the Mysterious Musician, a short story that follows Jade on an adventure after this novel. In all three, action and light romance combine with engaging characters and humor for page-turning whodunits set in the fictional coastal town of Sweetwater, NC.

Buy PRIVATE DECEPTION:
For Kindle from Amazon, $3.99
For Nook from Barnes & Noble
In various digital formats from Smashwords
In paperback from Amazon, $12.99

And now for the prizes!

That's right! PRIZES!

The prize for this Cozy Mysteries, Crazy Life blog is a Jade O'Reilly short story ebook (part of the series that includes the novel Private Deception, you know, the fantastic, bestselling novel humbly mentioned above). Ten winners will be drawn randomly from everyone who leaves a comment on this site. Remember to include your email address with your comment! If you win, you've got your choice which short story and which ebook version you'd like. Choose from Jade O'Reilly and the Ice Queen or Jade O'Reilly  and the Mysterious Musician!

  5. I live in Texas, so, no fall here yet. I can't say I've ever really seen the fall colors, either. I hope to some day. I love cool weather, though. I'm not a fan of hot weather. I love drinking hot tea and hot cider, and wearing sweaters, bundling up in a blanket to read. And fires. I love fires!

  26. I love autumn with all the brilliant colors: oranges, yellows and reds of leaves. I love crisp, cool mornings where the sky is so blue it looks endless and the air is so fresh in your lungs. I love snuggling up in a warm throw on a cold autumn day with a good book. Of course, I love snuggling up with a good book about anytime of the year. I love Thanksgiving because it is a time to remember all the many blessings in my life and express thanks. I love baking spicy pumpkin pies with dollops of cream.

The last book I finished was “Unravel Me” by Kendall Ryan. I liked it because the hot story line was so unexpected. I also love the steamy passion of the likes of Sylvia Day and Sylvain Reynard, but I hate mentioning favorite authors because the list is long. I appreciate the many styles authors use to weave stories of mystery, love, intrigue, preternatural and inspiration. I love reading because I can go anywhere, any time in my mind and imagine indescribable things.

  30. I love the burst of colors! The fall earth tone colors are very festive and beautiful. I am lucky to live where you can see the seasons change. Unfortunately, at this moment I can’t recall where autumn was a major focus of a story. It has no drama that stands out really. I love reading any time so the season doesn’t matter.
